About the Delaware Nature Society Kids Nature Blog!

Greetings fellow nature lovers! Welcome to the Delaware Nature Society’s Kids Nature Blog. Keep up to date on all of the cool things happening at the Delaware Nature Society for kids that like nature…like you!

We will keep you updated on current nature events and share anything and everything nature happening at all our sites (including any awesome animals we find outdoors!) The animals of the Ashland Nature Center Herp Room may make some appearances. You’ll get to see them up close and personal while learning fun facts you never would have guessed about them!

This is the place you’ll get the latest scoop on kids nature programs being offered. You can check out our “Program Spotlight” to see what kids like you have been up to when they visit our sites! If you’re interested in programs the Delaware Nature Society offers, check out our website delawarenaturesociety.org for a list of our awesome programs.

You’ll also hear what the Young Naturalists Club has been up to. This group of 9-12 year old nature lovers, bug collectors, snake finders, and explorers have a monthly adventure where they look for wildlife, take hikes, go fishing, cook over a fire and enjoy outdoor games.  If you love exploring streams, woods, fields, and wetlands searching for reptiles, amphibians, birds, and mammals, then this group is for you! If you’re interested in joining the Young Naturalists Club on their adventures, sign up now! Members can register online at delawarenaturesociety.org or you may call us at (302) 239–2334.

This is also where you can find tips and tricks on what YOU can do to be environmentally friendly. Whether it be saving the bags and bows from presents to reuse them or drinking from a reusable  water bottle (like a Nalgene) instead of drinking bottled water, you can make a difference! We will give you suggestions on how you can take care of the environment you love so much.

You can vote on your favorite animals and participate in contests, polls, and quizzes!

Find all this and much, much more here at the Delaware Nature Society Kids Nature Blog!
